Congratulations to our February Student Athletes of the Month!

Kara BiNali- Girls Wrestling

The head girls wrestling coach, Coach Widhalm, had this to say about Kara, "Kara wrapped up her phenomenal sophomore season becoming Fountain-Fort Carson's second 2 time State Medalist, and earning a medal in 8 tournaments this season. Kara was the team leader in wins, for the second season in a row, and has won an astounding 65 matches in her two seasons which is just shy of the school record. Kara not only displays excellence on the mat, she carries a 4.19 gpa. The way that Kara carries herself leads to constant comments from opposing wrestlers, parents, and coaches commenting to us that "Kara is our favorite wrestler that is not on our team." Although Kara is small in stature, she is a GIANT on the mat and in life. Kara, like all of our school record 6 state qualifiers attended middle school in FFC8, and is truly a testament to FFC8 building an athlete unlike the widespread recruiting of athletes that is so common in sport today. Athletic excellence, academic excellence, sportsmanship, and human kindness."

Jordan Ulmer- Boys Basketball

The head boys' basketball coach, Coach Davis, had this to say about Jordan, "Jordan Ulmer has been an invaluable asset to our varsity basketball program, consistently demonstrating the qualities of a high-character student-athlete and team leader. Jordan is averaging over 20 ppg and is improving every time he steps on the court. Through his steady performance, competitive play, and commitment to excellence, Jordan has played a key role in our team’s success this season. Whether contributing on the court through scoring, defense, or playmaking, or providing energy and focus from the bench, he approaches every opportunity with professionalism and purpose. Jordan’s leadership and work ethic have had a positive impact not only on the varsity team but on the entire basketball program. He leads by example in practice, holding himself to a high standard and setting the tone for preparation, accountability, and effort. His willingness to do the little things—defend the best opponent, communicate on the floor, and support his teammates—has strengthened our team."
