Congratulations to our January Student Athletes of the Month!
Madison Petruna- Girls Wrestling
The head girls wrestling coach, Coach Widhalm, had this to say about Madison, "Madison became FFCHS's 4th all time Colorado Springs Metros Champion, winning the championship with a 4-0 tournament record. COS Metros featured 24 teams from the Colorado Springs area. She also finished with a 4.0 gpa so far this school year. Mads is a 2 year team captain and a 3 time letter winner who finished 5th at Regionals last season. She is ranked #9 in the state of Colorado. After failing to place last season at Metros, Madison stood on top of the podium this season!"
Evan McCarty- Boys Wrestling
The head boys' wrestling coach, Coach Kutz, had this to say about Evan, "Evan has had a breakout January. He obtained his first ranking of #9 in the State. Evan placed third at the prestigious Colorado Springs Metro tournament and followed that performance with a third place finish at the Northglenn Norse Invite. His only defeat was to the #2 ranked HWT from Canon City. His leadership has provided motivation and direction for the underclassmen!"
