Congratulations to our March Student Athletes of the Month!

Kiara Humphrey- Track and Field

The head track coach, Coach Montoya, had this to say about Kiara, "Kiara Humphrey is a sophomore who competed in Track and Field as a freshman and is currently ranked as the Number 1 High Jumper in Class 5A at 5'-5". She is an excellent student who takes academics seriously by enrolling in challenging classes and maintaining a grade point average of 3.95. Kiara is well respected by her teammates, competitors, and coaches as being a fierce competitor and an extremely nice young lady. She will definitely make an impact on the final results of the Colorado state Track and Field meet and will be an athlete others will need to contend with for the next few years.

Alex Gio Nicandro- Boys Volleyball

The head boys' volleyball coach, Coach Sacdalan, had this to say about Alex, "Alex, a senior and two-time team captain who leads first with his work ethic—setting the tone in practice, competing with purpose, and holding himself to the same standards he expects of his teammates. He is a calm, respected presence in high-pressure moments, trusted by coaches and players alike to make the right play and keep the group aligned. Off the court, Alex leads through character—excelling academically, ranking in the top 10% of his class with a 4.22 GPA, and is actively immersed in cultural engagement as a member of the Asian Pacific Islander Club. Alex leads the boys’ volleyball program in 7 of 8 statistical categories, including ranking CHSAA State top 10 and #4 in the Pikes Peak League (5A) with 97 total kills, CHSAA State top 50 and the league’s top 10 for hitting percentage (.250), top 5 in aces, and top 10 in digs. His ability to elevate those around him while remaining humble and team-focused makes him the kind of leader teammates want to follow and younger players aspire to become. His competitive drive, academic achievement, and character make him a well-deserved Athlete of the Month."
