Competition Drone & Robotics Team

Competition Drone and Robotics is a course designed specifically for robotics and drone competitions and for those students who would like to continue to pursue robotics in college and the future. Students will prepare for robotics and drone competitions as they learn about mechanical systems, energy transfer, machine automation, and computer control systems. Students will use the VEX Robotics® platform and Aerial Drone platform to design, build, program and test a robot or drone in teams to perform specific tasks for the yearly event.

What to Expect

In this class, the student will be expected to attend a minimum number of after-school hours for the purpose of preparing for competition. There will also be a minimum of 3 to 5 Saturday events that will be required for this course. Those events may include but are not limited to: scrimmages, qualifying rounds, regional, state and or national competitions.

Each year, VEX Robotics and Aerial Drone releases a new field and tasks that each robot / drone must perform, making this course constantly fresh and challenging. We compete locally through Pikes Peak Robotics under the Robots Education & Competition Foundation, REC umbrella.
