September Student Athletes of the Month 2025

Miranda Lopez

Congratulations to our September Student Athletes of the Month!

Kaleigha Holmes- Softball

The head softball coach, Coach Neiger, had this to say about Kaleigha, " "Kaleigha is a quiet leader who sets the tone through her actions rather than her words. Her relentless work ethic and commitment to improving her game have been evident from day one. As just a freshman, she stepped confidently into the role as our number one varsity pitcher — a position she has embraced with poise and maturity beyond her years. Throughout the season, Kaleigha has consistently delivered under pressure, never rattled by the moment. Her outstanding earned run average and impressive strikeout-to-walk ratio of almost 3-to-1 are a testament to her skill and composure on the mound. No situation has proven too big for her, and her growth both as a player and a leader has been truly remarkable. It has been an honor to watch her develop and lead this team."

Joey Hatton- Cross Country

The head football coach, Coach Montoya, had this to say about Joey, "Joey is one of the best distance runners to have competed at Fountain-Ft. Carson High School. He currently holds the 3200m Run record for Track & Field which was broken in the spring of 2025. Joey is a very dedicated young man, displays great leadership skills and is one the hardest wording individuals to have run Cross Country and Track & Field at FFCHS. He has demonstrated is work ethic by running a total of 600 miles this past summer to prepare himself for the upcoming season. He also just ran the fastest time ever recorded at FFCHS by posting 16:14.9 for 5000m. Joey goes above and beyond what the coaches expect by, running several100m strides, flexibility exercises, strength training, and researching the sport of running to become a better competitor. He also is a great role model who is respected, admired by his teammates and is an extremely nice young man.”
